The 'Contradictions' Are Bringing You Into Divine Alignment
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work'
2 Tim 3: 16-17
When will you see the breakthrough for the things which you have been praying and believing for or when will the trial end? or when will the struggle be over?
These are some of questions that I believe every child of God has faced, or will face, at some stage in their Christian journey. It is the 'seemly contradictions' of life….
Here’s the interesting thing, sometimes you have to live with 'contradictions' - for a season. We've all been there, (myself many times) where you've received a prophecy or word spoken over your life. It was awesome, you were in the 'glory realm' and then the very next day your circumstance 'speaks' the complete opposite!!!
But...we can take comfort from scriptures for our learning and understanding.
* Abraham is called the father of many nations, but he must wait many years for the appointed time to become a father.
* David is anointed by Samuel to be king, but goes back to tending sheep in the field. Some scholars say it took approximately 15 years before he reaches the throne.
* Joseph has a powerful dream of his brethren bowing before him but must wait nearly 13 years for the fulfilment of the prophecy.
So the question is not why the contradictions but what purpose are these contradictions serving
Purpose meaning: the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists
According to Ecclesiastes 3:1 ‘To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose’
A time of planting, and a time of reaping. We don’t usually like the time of planting; where the soil must be cultivated, seeds must be put in the ground and the ground must be watered, but the time of planting is necessary for the time of reaping. But we all like harvesting, and seemly only want to harvest. There is also time of building, but in the process certain things require breaking down in order to build the new, all are necessary events in the process.
Joseph, before he can ascend to the palace, serves in what appears to be many contradictions. He's taken from his father's house and stripped of his favoured coat, placed in a pit, sold as a slave in Egypt to Potiphar, in Potiphar house he is lied on by Potiphar's wife and ends up in prison. This appears to be a total contrast to the dream that he had back in his father's house. But in all the contradictions of Joseph's life he must learn some important lessons of testing, waiting, faith, patience, forgiveness and service. When Joseph eventually gets to the place of destiny and alignment all the 'contradictions' in his life make sense. They were all designed to bring him to this place and more importantly keep him there.
Times of ‘contradictions’ serve a purpose, and are necessary process of grow and development. To help us in these seasons of contradictions maybe we should call them something else as words carry meaning and emotions, rather than contradictions: process events. But ultimately whatever you call them you must learn from them to move forward or you may find yourself in a cycle of going through the lessons but never really learning and moving forward.
There is an appointed time to everything that you are praying for and believing, but you must go through the process events before you get to the place of divine alignment.
So here’s the Word
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]. Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.
