The Faith that Understands

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3

This is interesting in the subject of faith, Paul states in the above text that understanding in the realm of the spirit is by faith. It is by faith we understand that worlds were formed/created by the word of God. It is not understanding by the intellectual mind (the mind of the unregenerated soul) where normal human comprehension and understanding occurs.

In the intellectual mind understanding is by way of reasoning and logic - Information taken in by the five senses; sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell are then made sense of by the logical mind - meaning does it make sense. Logic is actually a very interesting subject to study.

Logic (from the Ancient Greek: logikḗ), originally meaning "the word" or "what is spoken" (but coming to mean "thought" or "reason"), is generally held to consist of the systematic study of the form of valid inference. A valid inference is one where there is a specific relation of logical support between the assumptions of the inference and its conclusion. (Wikipedia).

This was the academic prowess of the Greeks they revelled in their wisdom and philosophies, they loved the teaching of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. So the preaching of the cross of Christ was foolishness to them.

The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14.

In the way of faith, understanding is received in the heart, it does not make sense to the natural mind/man who is not born of the spirit of God for these things are spiritually discerned.

So God speaks to us from the realm of Spirit to our Spirit and most of what he instructs does not make sense. How can walking around a wall for seven days bring it down – Hello Joshua? How can a young man who leaves his father's house at 17, gets taken to Egypt as a slave, works for Potiphar, find himself in prison and then from a prison becomes the Prime Minister of Egypt – Hello Joseph.

It doesn’t make sense so that it can makes faith...We understand by faith
